This year's update on chest pain is linked directly to the NICE guideline published last year. The NHS Evidence - cardiovascular team, based at the University of Surrey, have undertaken detailed searches and critical appraisal of new systematic reviews and randomised trials covering the spectrum from assessment to early management of this common condition. The findings have been put into clinical context by expert reviewers from emergency medicine, cardiology, cardiovascular imaging and nursing.

Annual Evidence Update on Inflammatory Bowel Disease: 21-25 March 2011

An update of the evidence on this topic from NHS Evidence - gastroenterology and liver diseases

The fifth Annual Evidence Update (AEU) on Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) will present the results of the Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases Project Team’s systematic search to update the results of the 2010 AEU. As in previous years, guidelines, systematic reviews, health technology assessments and economic evaluations retrieved have been read and appraised for their validity and relevance to the busy clinician by leading IBD experts from around the UK. A list of the papers deemed worthy of inclusion, along with expert commentaries by our reviewers, will be freely available on the site at http://www.library.nhs.uk/gastroliver from 21 March.
