BMJ Clinical Evidence

The current NLH contract with BMJ Clinical Evidence is due to end on the 30th September 2006.

Some email discussion has implied that the ending of this contract is an arbitrary decision. I can assure you this is not an arbitrary decision, and does not mean that individual library services need to take out subscriptions for CE.

With the contract coming to an end, the opportunity is being taken to merge the future development of CE and Prodigy through a new contract which will provide Clinical Knowledge Summaries. We are in the middle of the re-procurement process, so can't give more detail at the moment, but will keep you informed of developments.

The new service will be in place by the time the current contract with CE ends.
