National Knowledge Week: 31st July - 4th August

A last-minute National Knowledge Week on Biological Therapies for Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis has been organised by the Skin Disorders Specialist Library, to coincide with the release of new NICE guidance.

More details can be found on the For Librarians page about Specialist Libraries, along with an updated calendar of planned NKWs.

Announcement

Ben Toth, the Joint Director of the National Library for Health, has announced that he will be leaving Connecting for Health shortly. He will maintain an advisory role to the Library. 'It's been great fun developing the NeLH and the NLH, but I promised my family I would change my work activities two years ago,' Dr Toth said. 'The NLH programme is now well developed, based on an overall service architecture, a commissioning and performance framework, and continuing professional development for library staff. I look forward to the emergence of NHS Libraries 2.0 over the next few years.'

Clinical Evidence is becoming "Clinical Knowledge Summaries"

The contract for Clinical Evidence ends in September 2006 as planned and in its place a new service - working title Clinical Knowledge Summaries - is being procured. The procurement is being undertaken in order to address the limitations in Clinical Evidence expressed by users and to integrate PRODIGY Knowledge and Clinical Evidence. The service will also include an RSS based current awareness service on important new research and features to enable it to be integrated with Map of Medicine and clinical systems.
