National Knowledge Week for Sepsis Bundles: 24-29 September 2007
The Emergency Care Specialist Library will publish a National Knowledge Week for Sepsis Bundles during 24-29 September 2007. The knowledge week aims to provide up to date information on the subject and incorporates the 2007 revisions to the Surviving Sepsis Campaign guidelines for management of severe sepsis and septic shock http://ssc.sccm.org/. Contributors include the chair of the UK Executive for the Surviving Sepsis Campaign and other experts.
The following topic areas will be covered:
- Introduction (including prevalence and economic impact)
- Defining sepsis, severe sepsis and septic shock
- Pathophysiology of sepsis
- The Surviving Sepsis Campaign
- Severe Sepsis Care Bundles
- Novel therapies in severe sepsis
The content of the knowledge week will be presented in the Library and freely available from 24 September at www.library.nhs.uk/emergency.
