Annual Evidence Update on Cardiac Rehabilitation: 2-6 June 2008

An update of the evidence on this topic produced by the NLH Cardiovascular Diseases Specialist Library.

The NLH Cardiovascular Diseases Specialist Library team is pleased to announce the first Annual Evidence Update on cardiac rehabilitation. We are publishing this information to coincide with our attendance as exhibitors at the annual scientific meeting of the British Cardiovascular Society. The Cardiac Rehabilitation Annual Evidence Update provides findings from a detailed search of recent, high quality evidence – mostly systematic reviews – to support clinicians, commissioners and patients in designing and delivering improved care, and making decisions with individual patients. This evidence is accompanied by summaries from experts in Cardiac Rehabilitation.

Whilst cardiac rehabilitation is an evidence based intervention which reduces mortality and morbidity, it is often seen as a ‘Cinderella service’: By highlighting cardiac rehabilitation via this evidence update we hope to draw attention to the importance of this area within the cardiovascular diseases spectrum.
