NKW for Foundation Doctors

The National Library for Health's Emergency Care Specialist Library is running a National Knowledge Week for Foundation Year Doctors starting on 30th July 2007. The aim of this week is to provide new doctors with key facts that they should know, particularly in situations where they may be having to act on their own before they summon help. We are focussing on 5 topic areas this year:

Pain

Chest Pain

Pulmonary Embolus

Collapse

Modified Early Warning Scores (MEWS) / Clinical Risk Stratification

For each of these topics we will present an A4 page or two of information consisting of

- 10 single line learning points

- A couple of paragraphs of more detailed information

- Links to important sources of further information

The knowledge week will be available from 30th July 2007 at http://www.library.nhs.uk/emergency
